A useful community starts with care.

These guidelines explain how we look after one another, how moderation works, and how to add the Aerenium bot to Discord without giving it more access than it needs.

Conduct Moderation and reporting Discord bot setup

These rules apply to Aerethis community spaces, including conversations, the Mod Workshop, and official Discord spaces.

How we treat one another

Make room for questions, disagreements, and different levels of experience. The standard is simple: be constructive and leave people safer than you found them.

Rule 1

Respect people

Challenge ideas without attacking the person. Harassment, hate, threats, sexual abuse, and targeted humiliation are not welcome.

Rule 2

Keep it useful

Stay near the topic, explain what you tried, and avoid spam, repeated promotion, or flooding a conversation.

Rule 3

Protect private information

Do not post passwords, license tokens, private conversations, personal addresses, or anyone else's identifying information.

Rule 4

Be honest about what you share

Describe mods, links, AI-generated material, and conflicts of interest plainly. Never hide harmful code or misrepresent another person's work.

Moderation and reporting

Moderators look at context, safety, and patterns of behavior. Reports are reviewed by people; a report does not automatically punish anyone.

When something is wrong

Report in three clear steps

    Save the link

    Copy the conversation, post, mod, or message link. Add a screenshot only when the original may disappear.

    Describe what happened

    Name the rule or safety concern, include the time, and keep the description factual.

    Send it privately

    Use the report option where available, or contact Aerethis support. Do not start a public pile-on.

Set up the Aerenium Discord bot

You need permission to manage the server. Use the official invite, review every permission, then test the bot in one channel before opening wider access.

Do not grant Administrator. It is not required for normal text, application-command, voice, or music use. Start with the minimum permissions below and add an optional permission only when you use that feature.

Open the official invite

Use the bot link supplied by Aerenium or Aerethis support. Avoid copied invite links from strangers.

Choose your server

Select a server where you have Manage Server permission, then confirm that the bot name and publisher are the ones you expected.

Review permissions

Keep the standard text and application-command permissions. Add voice permissions only if your server will use voice activity or music.

Test one channel

Place the bot role below trusted staff roles, allow one test channel, and confirm that a mention and the command picker both respond.

Permission checklist

Discord channel overrides can remove a permission even when the server role has it. Check both places if the bot stays silent.

Normal Aerenium bot features do not need unrestricted server access.

Find and use commands

Command names can change as the bot improves. Discord's command picker shows the exact commands enabled for the version installed in your server.

Open the command picker

Type a slash, choose Aerenium from the app list, then select a command and read its field descriptions.

Send a text request

Mention Aerenium with your request in an allowed channel. Keep private information out of the message.

If a command is not shown in Discord, it is not available to that server right now. Do not copy undocumented commands from third-party guides.

Troubleshooting

Start with the server role, then check the channel override. Most setup problems are permission mismatches.

The bot is not listed

Repeat the official invite while signed into the right Discord account. You must be able to manage the selected server.

Slash commands are missing

Confirm Use Application Commands, reopen Discord, and wait briefly for the server's command list to refresh.

The bot can see but cannot reply

Allow Send Messages and Read Message History for the bot role in that channel, including any category override.

Voice or music is unavailable

Allow Connect and Speak in the chosen voice channel, then use the actions currently shown in the command picker.
